Questions about gas refills.
How often does an AC need a gas refill?
Never — if the system is healthy. The refrigerant circulates in a closed loop and isn’t consumed. If the level dropped, there’s a leak: we find it, fix it, then refill. That’s the only fix that lasts.
How do I know the gas is low?
Typical signs: weak cooling even at maximum, ice on the thin pipe of the outdoor unit, and a unit that runs constantly without reaching the set temperature. On-site diagnosis confirms it — deep dirt causes some of the same symptoms.
Why isn’t “just a refill” enough?
Because if there’s a leak, the new gas escapes within weeks or months — you pay twice for the same problem. We check for the leak before refilling: it’s a standard part of the service, not an extra.
Which refrigerant do you use?
Whatever your unit’s manufacturer specifies — usually R32 for newer models and R410A for older ones. We charge the amount on the manufacturer’s plate, not “by eye”.
How much does a gas refill cost?

Can the installation be the cause of the gas loss?
